Jon Middleton a.k.a J*MIDD had music flowing through his veins ever since he was born on July 5, 1986 in Kennesaw, Georgia. J*MIDD comes from a rich long line of musically talented people in his family.
J*MIDD was introduced to the music world when he was very young while traveling with his father on the tour bus for all the nation wide shows. J*MIDD’s father was part of a contemporary Christian group called Newsong while he was growing up. For over fourteen years J*MIDD used to travel with his father and “uncles” (three other close group members) as he watched them pack out arenas all over the U.S. One of the group’s members (Uncle Eddie) is famously known for writing the song “Christmas Shoes” along with many other group hits. Although J*MIDD’s father parted from the group sometime ago to pursue a solo career, the entire group has recently been inducted into the Contemporary Christian Music Hall of Fame.
Newsong embedded the inspiration that thrives behind the music J*MIDD writes by instilling positive influences within every hook and verse. “My dad’s group sold hundreds of thousands of records and performed in front of millions of people throughout their career”, J*MIDD said,” And yet they were never in it for the money or the fame, they just wanted to share their message with people and they did it through their music.”
From the moment that first guitar was placed into J*MIDD’s hands when he was eight years old his passion for music has continued to grow and a movement has been created. Even though he grew up performing in churches and following in his father’s footsteps, it was the passion to rap and sing in high school that propelled his musical career. Local producers, R & L Productions teamed up with J*MIDD and gave him the first tracks he needed to write his hits to. Shortly after writing his first handful of songs and learning the art of flow rapping from his basketball teammates, J*MIDD found his true passion and quickly developed a strong local following.
J*MIDD’s first public performance to his local following was two years ago where he packed out a local bar and won the loyal attention of many more. Since then J*MIDD has rocked stages in front of thousands of people and even headlined small bars and clubs to large prominent nightclubs all over Georgia. He has hit the stages with big named celebrities such as Twista, Flo Rida, Travis Porter, Roscoe Dash, Yung Joc, Dev, Gorilla Zoe and Ying Yang Twins. Some of the artists J*MIDD has collaborated with include Ying Yang Twins, DJ Unk, TQ (formally of Cash Money), Montana Da Mac and legendary Raheem the Dream. He has also hit the road and performed all over the Southeast.
J*MIDD’s main goal in life is to perform and write music which is fueled by a passion to keep things clean and positive. He writes all of his own songs and uses true life inspiration as motivation to all the words that make each song come to life. He wants to show the world that good music can rock out a club without sex, drugs or alcohol involvement, a mission to redefine the meaning of “party.” His style is clean, fresh and vastly versatile as he interchanges between pop-rap, R & B and even a little bit of rock. J*MIDD is looking to take his passion to the next level in efforts to prove the mission he has set out to accomplish, and the time is right to make a difference.
J*MIDD is a hot new artist that is rising fast from the stomping grounds of Atlanta, Georgia and is on a path that is creating a movement in music. Redefining the underlying meaning to “party” is his goal in the explicit game of hip-hop.
J*MIDD is very different from his generation as all his music stays clean and the message he leaves is a positive one to all the negative influences surrounding music today. J*MIDD also has a younger generation of followers so the music that he creates will reach those young minds and leave a positive imprint behind.
He is ready for music to break away from the norm of derogative lyrics and degrading innuendos to show that people can go out and have fun without making bad decisions.
This movement is also deeply rooted on a more personal level for J*MIDD. Personal down to the level where his family even chooses to have no involvement to what he is doing because of the scene this rap music puts him into.
With the determination to make a change all by himself, J*MIDD faces forward and keeps his feet on the ground and there is no stopping the change that is taking place in the game of hip-hop.
God over Money.
